Our patented Evaporative Desorption Technology (EDT) treatment process is flameless; providing the effectiveness of thermal treatment without the complex permitting challenges associated with other ex situ soil treatment technologies.
EDT is not an incineration process. It's where terrain meets technology. The chamber temperature of our Evaporative Desorption Units (EDU) is maintained well below the formation temperature of NOx, SOx, and dioxin, preventing the creation of these compounds altogether.
Soil treatment time is determined based on site-specific parameters, and may be controlled by endpoint analysis using real-time operational and emissions data. The system has monitoring devices for pressure, temperature, airflow, and vacuum. In fact, it receives 60,000 data points from the site each day.
In general, soil treatment output for hydrocarbons, VOCs, CVOCs, and PAHs ranges from 200 to 250 tons per day per EDU. As needed, multiple EDU systems can be mobilized to a site and clustered to achieve soil treatment throughputs close to 600 tons per day.
